Mike grew up playing hockey and golf at an elite level actively working on his mental game to gain a competitive advantage. After earning a Division 1 hockey scholarship to the University of Massachusetts where he completed a degree in psychology, Mike turned pro signing with the Buffalo Sabres. This launched a ten-year career where he continued to hone his mental toughness as a journeyman playing for fifteen teams including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Rangers, and Ottawa Senators.

Upon his retirement from professional hockey, Mike completed a Master’s degree in applied sport psychology becoming a member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association as a Mental Performance Consultant. Mike understands the critical importance of having a sound mental game in pursuit of optimal performance and he now dedicates his time to helping athletes build a strong foundation of psychological tools in support of sustainable results.
